TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) — The U.S. Postal Service's Office of Inspector General says it is investigating the post office in Torrington following complaints filed by employees against the postmaster.
The Register Citizen reports that the inspector general's office denied its request for records associated with the probe because the investigation is continuing.
A letter sent on behalf of post office employees to a postal service district manager alleged the postmaster deleted and altered hours within the employees' time card system. It also said he was responsible for a workplace environment of fear and rude treatment toward employees.
The postmaster could not be reached for comment.
An official with the U.S. Postal Service district encompassing Torrington declined to comment, saying the office was unaware of information regarding an inspection.
