TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Torrington veteran is getting a new start thanks to a generous gift from a veterans group.

"Congratulations and thank you. Thank you, thank you very much."

Literally a key to success. At least that's the hope for a former navy seal who was given a Ford Escape to help jump start his commercial cleaning business.

"There you go. Ready to go. How does it sound?"

"It sounds like it's going to help me out, help my business out," Roger Dasilva said.

Dasilva left active duty to come home to Connecticut and spend more time with his family in the Torrington area. Work Vessels for Veterans is helping him carve out that new life by providing a vehicle to help him expand his business, Trident Cleaning Group.

"It's just a real thrill to be able to give back to get them started," said Cathy Cook, Work Vessels for Veterans, "the nation owes them and we're delighted to be part of it."

Bob Valenti Automall is also part of it, providing more than a dozen vehicles for the cause at cost.

"This is just one way we can do a little small small portion to help out," said Bob Valenti.

The vehicle is perfect for Dasilva because not only can it bring his employees, but it can also transport all his equipment and it's all-wheel drive so it's perfect for his newest contract with Ski Sundown.

A new contract and a new chance for him to give back.

"We want to start hiring veterans," said Dasilva. "We are looking for veterans to hire."

Another work vessel for another veteran.

"I think it's a grateful nation saying thank you," said Cook.

A thank you for his service.
