Meriden (WTNH) - Two police officers were hit by a car at a DUI checkpoint in Meriden this morning.
Witnesses tell police that the car drifted into the center lane of East Main St., where the officers were taking down a warning sign.
Detective Robert Milslagle and Detective Joseph Robinson were treated at the scene by Meriden Ambulance, and then taken to Hartford Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver of the car, 25-year-old Zynia Alvarez of West Haven, is being charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and assault with a motor vehicle. She is being held on $250 thousand bond.
