MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Russell Library in Middletown is back open Friday after a brief scare of bed bugs.
The library was closed on Wednesday after a bed bug was found in a DVD case and in a computer in the adult section of the library.
Those with borrowed books were asked to return them in zip-locked bags so they could be examined.
Dogs trained to detect the pests were brought in on Wednesday to sniff out the whole library to determine how severe the infestation was.
The dogs were brought back on Thursday after an extermination process. Officials say they didn't find any live bed bugs or viable eggs.
