CROMWELL, Conn. (WTNH) -- A bicyclist was taken to the hospital after suffering a shoulder injury while in a state park Thursday.
The call came in to 911 just before 7 p.m.
It was reported that there was an injured bicyclist in the River Highlands State Park.
The caller said there were three people were biking in the heavily wooded area when the injured bicyclist, a 19-year-old Rocky Hill resident, fell while attempting to complete a jump. The three were reported to be deep in the wooded park and close to the Tournament Players Club.
The Cromwell Fire Department responded to the scene, going 100 yards into the woods equipped with medical gear, including a backboard and a stokes basket to rescue the victim.
The injured teen was transported to the hospital suffering from a right shoulder/clavicle injury.
