Westbrook, Conn. (WTNH) - Some students were sent to the hospital after being exposed to a gas leak at Westbrook Middle School.
Fire officials say a power outage over the weekend caused some pilot lights to go out in the school's cafeteria, causing a gas leak inside the school.
Westbrook High and Middle Schools share the same building, so both were evacuated when the leak was discovered. The leak was on the middle school side of the building.
At this time, it's not clear exactly how many students were taken to the shoreline clinic, but officials report that they are all being treated for minor symptoms.
Some ambulances will stay on the scene to evaluate others who were exposed.
Officials say the school is being monitored.
Students and faculty have since been allowed back in the building, and classes have resumed.
