Hartford teen drowns in Conn. River

HADDAM, Conn. (AP) - Officials say the body of an 18-year-old Hartford teen has been found in the Connecticut River near the Haddam Meadows Boat Launch.

The teen was pronounced dead just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday. He has been identified as Dominic Sobota.

The search began at 7 p.m. when the boy went under while swimming with friends near the boat launch.

The Middletown Fire Department's dive unit found the body about 300 yards up the river from the boat launch.
