Westbrook, Conn. (WTNH) - Firefighters from several towns were called in to battle a huge house fire in Westbrook on Captian's Drive, which is off Seaside Avenue near Pilot's Point Marina.
Fire crews from several towns responded after a number of 9-1-1 calls came in Tuesday night. Witnesses on the scene say the house "burned to the ground."

The multimillion dollar home with an expansive view became a spectacle for those trying to get the best view of the scene.
“Everybody was on their phone calling 9-1-1. We walked around here and just, the whole building just erupted in flames,” said on the scene witness Nancy Wasley. “And the flames moved this way and you could hear the glass popping, and then it entered the green house and just exploded.”
Six towns teamed up as the fire continued to feast on the home. Two fire boats were used, as crews attacked the dying home from all angles. The house has a reputation of being a five star place.
“Real expensive furniture,” Julius Rizzo told News 8’s Jamie Muro. “They had a stairway in there. I don't know if it got gutted or not, it was beautiful, Roman design…”
“We thought it was a boat, and then got a call from a friend of ours who told us whose house it was,” Loretta Rizzo explained. “And we knew the house, we came over, it was the house, we feel bad about it.”
Firefighters gained control after about an hour after the battle began.
News 8 has learned no one was inside the home and there were no injuries.
The Westbrook fire marshal is working with the state fire marshal in the investigation.
