MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH)-- A serious car crash involving a drunk driver happened in Middletown on Sunday.
Police say a 2004 Honda Accord and a 2006 Subaru Baja were traveling southbound on Industrial Park Road around 2:40 AM, when both vehicles traveled to the right and off a roadway.
The Honda, driven by David Turcotte, 29, of Glastonbury, subsequently struck a tree and was severed in half.
A passenger of the Subaru was ejected from the car.
Both the passenger of the Subaru and Turcotte were transported to Hartford Hospital for their injuries.
The driver of the Subaru, Robert McLellan, 30, of Portland, was charged with a D.U.I., after he was released from Middlesex Hospital.
He is being held on $50,000 bond.
The accident is still under investigation.
