Durham, CT (WTNH) - A person was transported to the hospital after a construction accident in Durham earlier today.

State Police said that a man working for the company Shur-Shot Gunite, was sent to the hospital after getting his leg entangled in machinery during a pool installation.

According to police, Shur-Shot Gunite was contracted to spray gunite, a cement mixture, into a pool being installed at a Durham home. When the mixing truck became clogged, the worker climbed into the back of the truck to fix it and got his leg entangled in an auger.

Durham Fire Department said that the man was stable, conscious and alert when they arrived on the scene.

The man was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with serious injuries.

The Assistant Fire Chief believes that the leg may need to be amputated.
