Woman killed on Route 9 in Cromwell

Cromwell (WTNH) - A woman who got out of her disabled vehicle along Route 9 in Cromwell was struck and killed by another vehicle.

Amanda Baker, 23, of Cromwell was standing along the left side of her carĀ  on the right shoulder of Route 9 North, south of exit 19, when a car drifted onto the right shoulder and struck her.

Baker suffered serious injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The accident is currently under investigation.
