Woman charged for bank embezzlement

    Deep River (WTNH) - State Police have made an arrest for a case of bank embezzlement after an investigation that started in February of 2009.

    Laura Smith, 46, of Deep River has been charged with Larceny in the 1st degree. She faces charges for allegedly taking money from bank deposits for five months from the Liberty Bank in which she worked.

    She was released on a $20,000 bond.
