MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) — A rest area along Interstate 91 in Middletown has been dedicated in the name of a Connecticut state trooper who was killed in the line of duty in 2010.
A ceremony was held Friday morning to name the rest area and weigh station in honor of Trooper Kenneth Hall.
Hall was killed on Sept. 2, 2010, when a truck slammed into his parked cruiser in the right shoulder of Interstate 91 in Enfield. The driver of the rented truck was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
A plaque in Hall's memory was unveiled by Connecticut's governor and lieutenant governor at the ceremony at the rest area on the northbound side of I-91.
