1 dead, 1 injured in violent crash

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- What police describe as a violent crash, killed one and injured another early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the scene on Forest Road shortly after 1 a.m. and found a rolled over vehicle.

Firefighters removed the driver, Anthony Valentino, 21, from the car. He was rushed to the St. Raphael's campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital.

His condition is unknown.

The passenger, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators report excessive speed was at least a contributing factor in the crash.

The crash is still being investigated.
