WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 21-year-old man was killed Monday night in a motorcycle crash in West Haven.

Police say Michael Cotto of New Haven was killed in the crash around 6:45 p.m. Monday night.

According to reports, Cotto and another motorcyclist collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Captain Thomas Boulevard and Dyke Street in West Haven.

Witnesses say the two motorcycles hit the truck so hard, they actually knocked it up on two wheels.

"I would estimate 70 miles an hour maybe. They were wide open and flying when they hit the truck," said a former EMT who witnessed the accident.

The second motorcyclist, who has not bee identified, as well as the driver of the pickup truck were both injured in the crash and taken to area hospitals to be treated.

The crash is under investigation.

Anyone with information, or who many have witnessed the crash, is asked to call police at 203-937-3925.
