The fire occurred around 12:30 p.m., at 26 Guiel Place Apt. 1.

Firefighters had to use a forced entry to get into the apartment.

When firefighters got into the complex there was heavy fire and heat conditions.

The residents weren't home at the time of the fire, but four pets were inside the apartment. One of the pets died in the fire.
