47-year-old woman died after hit by car

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 47-year-old woman died after she was hit by a car while crossing the street Wednesday night.

At 6:45 p.m. police received several 911 calls about a car striking a pedestrian on Middletown Avenue near Quinnipiac Avenue.

Upon arrival, officials found that a 47-year-old female was trying to cross the street when she was hit by a car traveling Northbound.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
