NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A mother and her one-year-old baby are reunited after she was taken out her home this morning.

Police say the father violated a restraining order and forced his way inside.

One-year-old Madison safe, smiling, and in her arms is not what Charlene Wilson expected.

"They all worked together. Every single cop was on this case," said Wilson.

Earlier this morning, you can see her a nervous wreck.

"He's a threat to himself and society," said Wilson.

She feared 48-year-old Robert Williamson, Madison's father, had a gun with him.

She says he saw her wiping snow off of her car, when he pulled his car up and walked right by her. She wasn't worried because the babysitter had the door locked but the sitter had no idea Williamson would be knocking so she opened the door.

"He was saying, "give me the baby, give me the baby. He pushed me, ran upstairs, got the baby and I tried to stop him but he pushed through me," said Beca Taylor the babysitter.

"Did he hurt you," asked News 8's Erin Logan.

"Um, no," said Taylor.

He then drove off with the baby.

"Williamson had phoned the child's mother and the initial call from her was that he was armed and that he had threatened to kill himself and kill the child," said Officer David Hartman of the New Haven Police.

For an hour he wouldn't answer his phone. Then, he picked up someone's call who told him there was an amber alert. That's when Williamson called police and agreed to bring the baby to them.

News 8 was there as several New Haven police officers waited on the corner of Orange Street and the Boulevard.

The baby is safe and the dad is in custody and it's the ending everyone prayed for.

"When she went missing, well, when the father took the baby, I felt like a piece of me like left from me and since they found her, I feel much better," said Taylor.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police have issued an Amber Alert for a missing two-year-old in New Haven.

Police are looking for one-year-old Madison Wilson. She is black, with brown hair and brown eyes. She's two feet tall and 20 pounds.

She was last seen in the area of Valley Street in New Haven.

The suspect is Robert Williamson, 46, the girl's biological father. He is described as a black man, 5'8", 180-210 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket, jeans, a black skull cap and brown boots.

Police said Williamson had called the girl's mother and threatened to kill himself and the girl. Police believe he is in possession of a firearm and is bipolar.

Police are looking for a teal colored Dodge Intrepid with license plate 431-YTD.
