WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police in West Haven warning people to be on alert for door to door magazine salespeople operating without a permit.

Officers ticketed eight people last night alone. They were escorted back to their van and told not to return.

Police say the company they work for, Urban Nation Entertainment, has been known to employ convicted felons and several members are under investigation for crimes committed in the area.

West Haven does not issue solicitation permits to convicted felons.
