MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- The bodies of a man and woman were found inside a Meriden apartment and the state's medical examiner says one of those deaths was a suicide.

On Tuesday, police found the bodies of 49-year-old Melinda Curtis and 50-year-old James Ahern inside Curtis' Eddy Avenue apartment in Meriden.

The State Medical Examiner's Office has ruled that Ahern died from a gunshot wound to the chest. His death was ruled a suicide.

Meriden police told News 8 they believe the shooting was domestic in nature.

The ME's office has not yet released Curtis' cause of death.
