EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Firefighters battled a blaze at a barn in East Haven Friday night.

The fire broke out around 7 p.m., at the Neubig Dairy farm, located at 151 Barberry Rd.

News 8 is told the farm was vacant.

East Haven Fire Chief Doug Jackson said it was a large fire, approximately 150 ft., and the flames and smoke could be seen from miles away.

Additionally, Jackson said the barn had oil drums and propane inside, and the closest hydrant was 2,500 feet away.

Fire department's from Branford, North Branford, East Haven, and North Haven were brought in to help.

Officials said the fire was contained and knocked down by 9 p.m.

No one was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
