Body found in road, man pronounced dead

GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A fatal accident early Saturday morning has left one man dead, police say.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday, police responded to two 911 calls reporting a man lying in the road.

Police said that they found the body of Jonathan McMahon, 19, in the eastbound travel lane on Boston Post Road, near the intersection of Flagmarsh Road.

McMahon was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

The preliminarily investigation indicates that a boat trailer being towed by an SUV may have struck McMahon.

Both the SUV and boat trailer have been impounded for further investigation.

The driver of the SUV and his passenger have been cooperating with investigators. The driver voluntarily submitted to an DUI breath test as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this accident is asked to call the Guilford Police.

No arrests have been made in this case and the investigation is continuing.
