WELLFLEET, Mass. (AP) — A Yale University graduate who died in a Massachusetts car crash just days after commencement had implored her classmates to "make something happen to this world" in her final student newspaper column.
Police say 22-year-old Marina Keegan, of Wayland, was pronounced dead at the scene of Saturday afternoon's crash in the town of Dennis on Cape Cod.
Her mother told the Cape Cod Times that she and her boyfriend were on her way to the family vacation home in Wellfleet.
The car's driver, 22-year-old Michael Gocksch, of Centerport, N.Y., survived.
Keegan's writing had been published in The New York Times. She had accepted a job at The New Yorker. Her final Yale Daily News column was widely shared on social media after her death.
