Coast Guard searches for missing swimmer

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Coast Guard is searching for a missing swimmer in Milford.

Officials said 40-year-old Brian Bakunas was last seen swimming near the Walnut Beach Pier just before 8 p.m.

Sight of Bakunas was lost in the heavy surf.

The Coast Guard is urging the public to stay clear of beaches.
