MADISON, Conn. (WTNH) -- The beach is where many go to get away from the heat, but unless you were actually in the water, the beach can be hot, even dangerous.
On a June day, the beach can be either too hot or too cold, just as two-year-old Ethan found out.
"I'm cold right now," said 2-year-old Ethan White.
"Is that because you were in the water," asked News 8's Kent Pierce.
"Yeah," Ethan replied.
While Ethan was cold after getting out of the water, he said it was hot when he wasn't all wet.
Lifeguards at the beach just want to keep everyone safe.
"The biggest thing is just staying hydrated, making sure that you have bottled water, bring fluids to the beach," said lifeguard Stephen Ferreira.
