East Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - After crashing into both a pole and a building Saturday, an East Haven man fled the scene, leaving personal information behind for police to find.

The accident took place around 5 a.m., on Main St., East Haven.

Upon arrival, police found a heavily damaged vehicle, which was unoccupied.

East Haven Police said the vehicle appeared to have been traveling east on Main St. when it left the road, striking a light pole, a traffic control box and the rear portion of a building located at 199 Main St.

The damaged control box caused the traffic light in front of the East Haven Fire Department to stop working.

While the driver had left the scene, information found inside the vehicle led police to 75 Saltonstall Parkway, Unit 5C.

When police arrived at the address, they found the driver, 25-year-old Pedro Reyes.

Reyes admitted to driving the vehicle and also said he received an injury from the accident.

Reyes was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment.

No charges have been filed yet.

The investigation is ongoing.
