EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) - East Haven's Mayor has been spotted at a local airport.
According to East Haven's Democratic Town Chairman Gene Ruocco, Mayor Joseph Maturo was spotted at Tweed New Haven Airport.
According to Ruocco, the mayor was seen at the airport on Wednesday, boarding a plane to Florida.
Ruocco said, "We have the Department of Justice and the FBI investigation ongoing." He also said that it is the beginning of budget time in the town.
According to Ruocco, on Mar. 1, all department heads return budget requests to the Board of Finance Departments.
"He isn't even in Office 120 days, yet he leaves this town to go on vacation. What does that say for his concern for East Haven at this time with it's many problems," said Ruocco, in a written statement.
As Democratic Town Chairman, Ruocco has called for Maturo's immediate return.
