NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Emergency personnel responded to a gas leak in New Haven this morning.

The gas leak happened in a building on Orange St.

The building is home to approximately 200 apartments, and there are three restaurants on the ground floor.

Emergency personnel determined that the gas leak started in a stove at Thali, an Indian restaurant.

The gas was shut off and the building was evacuated.

People were allowed to return to the building just before 11 a.m.
