Firefighter injured in Waterbury fire

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A firefighter was sent to the hospital after battling an early morning fire in Waterbury.

The fire broke out at 15 Spread Oak Lane just after 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Officials say the flames were restricted to only one room, but smoke and water damaged the rest of the home.

One firefighter was injured and sent to the hospital, but has since been released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Six people, four adults and two children, were displaced as a result of the fire. None of them were injured.
