NORTH BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A truck delivering fluosilicic acid to the Regional Water Authority on Foxon Road spilled 50 to 70 gallons Thursday morning.

The acid is used to add fluoride to water.

Department of Energy and Environmental Protection workers and local firefighters were called to the scene to keep people away until an environmental contractor was brought in to clean up the spill.

It's not clear yet what caused the spill.

No one was hurt.
