MADISON, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Friends of Hammonasset State Park holds its annual Christmas Tree and Wreath sale this weekend.

Money from the sale of these trees, wreaths, and Christmas kissing balls go right back into the park, including the Meigs Point Nature Center.

Director Russ Miller, known as 'Ranger Russ', says it's a vital fundraiser to keep their educational programs going.

"It just makes you feel warm," he said. "It's really great to see because there are a lot of people who come here every year, because there are a lot of people who ask 'when are the trees getting here, when are the trees getting here, we buy our trees from you every year'."

They sell about 600 every year.

It's taking place in front of the park office across from Lenny & Joe's on Route 1 in Madison. If you're a member of the group you get $5 off.
