NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- New Haven Department of Public Works will temporarily close the Grand Avenue Bridge beginning on Monday.
The City of New Haven's DPW has scheduled bridge maintenance on the Grand Ave. Bridge to begin Monday, June 25th, 7 a.m. through Friday, June 29th, 5 p.m.
The closure is for routine deck maintenance. Maintenance activities require that the bridge be closed to vehicular traffic. Motor vehicles should use alternative routes for travel.
While the Grand Avenue Bridge will remain in a closed position, it will be opened for marine traffic as required. Pedestrians may cross the bridge, but should expect delays during bridge openings to allow passage of marine traffic.
