MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)-- HealthBridge nursing home workers are back on the job Sunday.
After eight months on the picket lines, nurses, aids and support staff at nursing homes across the state, returned to the patients they've missed.
Senator Richard Blumenthal was on hand this afternoon as workers returned.
"I am so proud to be here today with workers at HealthBridge, who are returning to their jobs after an abusive lockout, that was ruled illegal by the courts. I was here on July 4th, I've been here a number of times since, because these workers are sending a message to all America that they can win as a matter of conscious and conviction, and legal right against a company that essentially wanted to lock them out of their jobs," said Sen. Blumenthal.
The caregivers returned to their jobs under the same terms and conditions of their prior Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This is considered a major victory for workers.
