DERBY, Conn. (WTNH) -- A Saturday morning fire sent two people to the hospital and left a house uninhabitable, officials say.
The Derby Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in a two-family home at 127 Park Avenue around 4 a.m. Saturday.
The fire broke out on the first floor and one resident was forced to jump out of a window on that level to escape the fire.
Two people were transported to Bridgeport Hospital for smoke inhalation treatment.
Fire department officials say that the house has become uninhabitable and the landlord is working on relocating the displaced tenants.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
