New Haven (WTNH) - These economic times are tough which means that many people are struggling to take care of themselves and their children. Keeping up with dental care can be especially difficult if you do not have a health plan.
The Levy Dental Group kicked off its "Give Kids a Smile Day" which provides free dental care to underprivileged children. According to HUSKY, a quarter of Connecticut's children do not have routine access to dental care and that can lead to serious medical complications in the long term.
"It's marvelous. But it's also kind of sad that there's so many people out there, that just don't have any access to any types of dental care. So it is marvelous but it just tells us we need to do a little bit more," said Dr. John Levy of Levy Dental Group.
