Wallingford, Conn. (WTNH) - Most people have been touched by Whitney Houston's music in one way or another over the past two decades.

The Christian inspirational group, Soul Tempo, worked with Houston on the 1996 hit film "The Preacher's Wife."

The group, who records out of their Wallingford home studio, say her voice is something you hear once in a lifetime.

"There will never be another Whitney Houston," said group member Jerry Brunson.

The group says the pop icon never acted like a diva and enjoyed breaking out into impromptu singing sessions with them during filming.

Brunson admits her battle with substance abuse took its toll on her voice quality, but when they worked together, she showed a commitment to sound perfect, a professional lesson they still emulate today.

"The quality, the control, knowing how to breathe, it's a lot that goes with singing and taking care of your voice," said Brunson. "I would give her a ten at her peak, recently I would have to giver her more of a five."

Soul Tempo specializes in writing inspirational songs. With the sudden death of the legend they called a friend they are considering crafting a tribute.

"We're really going to consider because we are songwriters and producers," Brunson said. "Also doing something just for a tribute because of the relationship we had."

At this point the group says they aren't planning on doing any Whitney Houston songs. They  say they don't feel they could do it justice.
