NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A New Haven neighborhood is reacting after a 16-month-old boy was shot there last week.
When the arrests were announced, little Tramire's parents showed every emotion from happiness to anger. His dad is angry about the violence on our streets. Now, as word gets out that suspect Tythrone Ford was eligible for early release, the entire neighborhood is angry once again.
Especially Lisa Tolson who owns a daycare right across the street from Tramire's home where he was shot on his porch.
Tolson witnessed Tramire's father in panic mode running for help with the 16-month-old. His little sister was inside the daycare sleeping when it happened.
"The pain and the fear that he had when he was running, no one would ever be able to imagine that unless you were him. It was very, very emotional. It was," said Lisa Tolson. "It's not fair. It's really not, that we should be subjected to this because of early release for whatever the reason. The streets are unsafe because they're getting out early. It doesn't make sense to me."
While one of the accused gunmen got early release credits before getting out of jail, corrections officials tell News 8 that had nothing to do with his release.
Take a look at some of the Report It photos we received in November, 2012.
