Man killed in Meriden fire identified

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police have identified a man who was killed in a house fire in Meriden.

Joel Kleinman, who is in his 60s, was killed in a house fire on Corrigan Avenue.

Officials say the fire started in a room on the second floor around 5 p.m. Saturday evening.

The exact cause of death is still not known, but he was initially taken to the hospital to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
