Mayor's mug shot signed for charity

    East Haven (WTNH) - East Haven Mayor April Capone Almon is using her mug shot to raise money for charity.

    The mayor autographed copies of her police photo. Radio station WPLR paid for the photos, which will benefit a holiday toy drive.

    "The case is the case and I have faith in the system, so I'm really not concerned," Mayor Almon said. "The photo is out there. Everyone has seen it."

    The mayor was arrested in September for interfering with police. She says this turns an unfortunate situation into something positive.

    The case against the mayor is still pending. She is due in court later this month.
