Milford, Conn. (WTNH) - A young mother and her baby escaped an early morning fire in Milford Saturday uninjured.
The fire occurred on the back porch of a second floor duplex apartment, located at 495 New Haven Ave.
A 17-year-old mother and her baby were inside the apartment at the time of the fire and taken outside unharmed. Officials said there were possibly three to four others in the apartment as well.
There was significant smoke damage to the apartment and the occupants were not allowed back in.
The fire remains under investigation. There is no word yet on what caused it.
