North Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - It's tough to top a Super Bowl weekend, but for a group in North Haven this Sunday is "super" for a reason other than football.
US Marine Corps Lance Corporal Al Perrilo just got back from a two-year tour in Afghanistan and his mother decided to throw him a surprise welcome home party.
The club house for the Biker Club, Connecticut Women, served as a very useful location housing more than 50 friends and family members who came to celebrate the return of the local hero.
"It's nice being home," said Al Perrilo. "Just trying to relax."
"Well, my son was coming home so I had to get the whole family together," said Debi Perrilo. "We are all about the family and very proud of him."
Lance Corporal Perrilo will be home for about a month before he goes back to Camp Lejune in North Carolina.
