NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- New Haven firefighters are cleaning up after a two-alarm fire at a home early Tuesday morning. The cause is considered suspicious.

The fire was reported before 4:00 a.m. at a three-story building on Harding Place near Dixwell Ave.

Only the first floor was occupied; the second and third floor apartments were vacant. Because the fire appears to have started on the second floor, officials call the fire suspicious.

The Red Cross is on the scene helping five residents who were living on the first floor.

No injuries have been reported.
