Second shooting in New Haven Saturday night

New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man was beaten and shot in the area of 377 Shelton Avenue Saturday night, police said.

Police say around 10:20 p.m Saturday night. Jerrod Goodman, 33, had been beaten and shot.

Goodman was shot several times in the hip, shoulder, and chest. He told police that he was able to get into his car and drive down Dixwell Ave. and Bassett Street, where he found a police officer to call for an ambulance. 

He was rushed to Yale New Haven hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police also responded to another shooting at Walt’s Package Store where a clerk was robbed and shot. They are believed to be two separate incidents.
