NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A new restaurant is shaking things up in downtown New Haven.
The Shake Shack's kitchen went to work shortly after 11 Thursday morning after city leaders cut the ribbon.
Customers were already lined up to get the first bite of their famous burgers and custard shakes.
They hired 60 folks at the downtown location, 30 from the New Haven area.
Their culinary manager is a local man from Stonington and he recommends the smoke shack burger. It's a cheeseburger with ranch, bacon and shack sauce.
"I feel a lot of pride here to come back here and add my own little spin to what's already great about New Haven, which is an amazing food culture here," said Mark Rosati, culinary manager.
This is their second location in Connecticut, the other is in Westport.
Take a look at some of the Report It photos we received in November, 2012.
