New Haven (WTNH) - State police now say what they thought was human remains found on a cliff in West Rock State Park Saturday evening is actually a mannequin.

State Police Lt. Paul Vance told News Channel 8 this morning that after returning to the park with a specialized ropes team to retreive the "body," they discovered it was a mannequin.

Police said the suspected body was in such a dangerous spot that crews couldn't get to it last night, so they had to return this morning with the special team to recover it.

The State Police Major Crimes Squad was on the scene at the park, which sits on the Hamden/ New Haven line, for about two and a half hours Saturday night, and at least three hours Sunday morning.
