An off-duty trooper is seriously injured and a female passenger dead after a motorcycle v. car accident that happened on Sunday around 5 p.m. The collision took place on Route 322 (Meriden/Waterbury Turnpike) at Honey Road.

Officers, investigating the case, say the off-duty trooper is John Brester, 23, of Cromwell. He and his passenger, 33-year-old Vanessa Kudrycki of New Britain, were ejected from the motorcycle after colliding with a car.

Brester and Kudrycki were both taken to St. Mary Hospital were Kudrycki was pronounced dead. Police say they were not wearing helmets.

The driver and passenger of the car were not hurt.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the Impala was north on Honey Road and attempted to turn left on Rte 322 directly in the path of travel of the motorcycle.

The crash remains under investigation by the Cheshire Police Traffic Division and any witnesses are asked to contact the Cheshire Police at (203) 271-5500.
