Hamden (WTNH) - A car went into a home, on Hamden Hills Drive, after the driver accidentally put the car in drive instead of reverse to pull out of a neighboring home's garage.

The female driver was sitting in her car, with a passenger, when she hit the gas and went through the garage, down an embankment and into the side of a neighbor's home.

The neighboring home's support beam was impacted, so the house has been deemed unsafe and uninhabitable at this time. The building inspector remains on scene.

The owner of the neighboring house is not home. The condition of the driver, and the passenger, is unknown at this time.

More details are expected to come.
