Multi-alarm fire in New Haven

New Haven firefighters are on the scene of a multi-alarm fire on Lilac Street.

The two alarm fire broke out around 3:30 p.m.

Lilac Street is between Dixwell Ave and Prospect St, in the general area of Albertus Magnus College.

It is in a residential area of the city with two and three-story buildings.

There was no word yet from firefighters on how the fire started, whether the building was occupied, or if anyone was hurt.
