New Haven (WTNH) - The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People ( NAACP ) are calling on world-renowned Forensic Investigator Dr. Henry Lee to take a closer look at a case that involved a West Haven nightclub fight and a deadly police cruiser crash.

At the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven they can do everything from re-create a crime scene to analyze microscopic particles of evidence or DNA. The NAACP is hoping it can help in assisting in an on-going investigation of their own.

"It's actually video footage," said Scot X. Esdaile of NAACP .

There is footage of events that happened in the early morning hours of June 13th. It began at the Utopia Cafe in West Haven; a large brawl erupted and West Haven called for back-up from Orange and Milford police. Six people were arrested. But an hour later a Milford cruiser returned from the scene and collided with another car, killing two Orange teenagers David Servin and Ashlie Krakowski.

The NAACP said there are many unanswered questions about the events that night, in particular the actions of the police. So, they are asking Dr. Lee to step in.

"He's right in our backyard and this incident happened in his backyard," said Esdaile. "So, we wanted to talk to him and get a better understanding in what we're involved in."

Dr. Lee has agreed to review the official report and evidence from the State Police once the investigation is complete.

"In my opinion, that's two isolated incidents; [they] should not link together but maybe there's a connection which we don't know," said Dr. Lee. "But,  [they] should be treated as two separate investigations."

The NAACP has agreed to turn over their video to the state's attorney's office. And, they say, Dr. Lee isn't the last expert's advice they plan to seek out.

"We have to consult with other experts, particularly on the policy of the use of tasers and police procedure," said Mike Jefferson of NAACP.

The NAACP said they believe there is other video out there; they're asking anyone who has any to come forward with it to help get to the bottom of what happened.
