Waterbury (WTNH) - Waterbury was saturated with a heavy rain storm that caused flashing flooding and damage to its roads and cars.

Construction crews take a stab at cleaning up the debris and garbage that has emerged with the heavy flooding.

Many parts of the Brass City were impacted. But, the biggest problems were reported on Long Hill Road.

"A lot of water in the yard," said Frank Kee of Waterbury.

Kee is a member of the House and Joy and Praise Church; it sits next to a flooded, impromptu lake on Long Hill.

"The dirt and rock stops the drains," said Kee.

In fact, the rain and flooding happened so fast, that some cars found themselves swamped in 3 to 4 feet of water. In total, 8 cars were trapped.

Authorities say that in order to prevent being trapped in flash flooding, don't chance going through flooded roads, especially if the bottom of the road can't be seen.
